Andrew received his B.S. in Biotechnology from Rochester Institute of Technology, later earning a Ph.D. from Mount Sinai in New York City. Andrew did his postdoctoral fellowship training at Rockefeller University in the lab of Luciano Marraffini. He saw Cam Newton at Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte once.


Michael Lutz, PhD

Mike received his B.S. in Biology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. He recently earned his PhD in Dr. Toru Takimoto’s lab at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, studying influenza A virus. In his free time he stakes out local Wegmans locations hoping to see Danny Wegman himself.


Keegan Proctor

Keegan is currently a third-year graduate student in the biochemistry PhD program at the University of Rochester. He grew up in Oregon before attending Knox College in Galesburg, IL, where he received a B.S. in biochemistry. In his free moments, Keegan daydreams about someday petting one of the groundhogs in Mt. Hope Cemetery.


Maedeh Aghahosseini

Maedeh received her B.S. in Genetics from the University of Isfahan in Iran. She then completed her M.S. at the same university, developing a HRP mimicking DNAzyme detection system. Maedeh is currently pursuing her graduate studies as a student in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology. She hopes to one day have a flock of a hundred chickens on a farm she can call her own!


Katherine Kaiser

Katie is a junior microbiology major from Boston, MA. She is excited to do research on antibiotic resistance using Staphylococcus aureus. She was a ski instructor in New Hampshire for five years and still enjoys skiing whenever she gets the chance.

Anotonia Roldan

Antonia was a research intern during summer 2023 and a senior at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in leadership studies. She is very excited to learn more about bacteriophages and the factors that affect their host range. She sings opera and was a competitive artistic roller skater for 10 years.
